Scooter Braun, famed talent manager and owner of Raymond-Braun Media Group and SchoolBoy Records, has worked with some of the music industry’s top talents, inducing the likes of Justin Bieber, PSY, Carly Rae Jepsen, Asher Rother and The Wanted. Starting his career before the age of twenty as the Executive Director for Marketing at one of the hip-hop industry’s most notable record labels, So So Def Records, Scooter Braun is a leading force in the marketing community.
After an informative talk at The Art Of Marketing Conference, Scooter Braun took some time to discuss key issues impacting the marketing industry at our backstage studio.
For Scooter the world revolves around Internet. In his view, the Internet is part of who we are; “we are given an opportunity to communicate with each other on a world-wide basis” and the most important thing marketers can do is to take advantage of all the tools available online.
However, with these tools come responsibilities and etiquette rules to guide user’s integrations. Scooter warns you must be authentic, keep content flowing and become one of the fans so that you can better understand how to market to your audience. For Scooter the emphasis is placed on the one on one interactions you can initiate on social platforms, rather than the big number plays that brands like to chase.
